Hi Ladies: How did you like the last TNT presentation with Debby Miller from Phases Accounting & Tax Service and Kimm Looney, Wells Fargo Investment Banker? I actually learned quite a bit. I can save 15.2% self-employment tax each year by becoming an "S Corporation".

I just completed my taxes and was not happy with the amount I had to pay, so I called Debby right away and scheduled my free consultation with her. She came to my home office and drew the papers that day for my new "S Corp.". (I also received a $50 credit from the TNT referral.) My business is now Carol Bradford Design, Inc. It honestly feels more official.

I would recommend Debby to anyone. She knows her stuff and I feel very comfortable asking her questions from now until tax time.

Has anyone else worked with Debby or Kimm that would like to share their experience?

March TNT Dinner Meeting

Hello, everyone: How did you like Tuesday's meeting? I thought Gretchen did a great job. Her presentation was the perfect length and there was just enough information to remember and to incorporate into every day life.

I also enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of the meeting. It's nice to see everyone getting along so well as business partners and most importantly, as friends.

You girls are the best. Thanks for the wine and chocolates, for the bracelet, Laurie, and for all the great cards. It's an honor serving on this board and with this group. You rock!

TNT Tea Tuesday

I just wanted to share about the TNT Tea we had on Tuesday. Elizabeth Blackwood, Jenny Liebowitz, Janine Robertson and I had a nice chat about networking (and other fun things, too). Donna Carlson came at the end after driving all night from Texas!

Elizabeth had a few sites in addition to Facebook that offer a communication tool that is more geared toward business. One is twitter.com. She said that several businesses have started using it and it may be helpful for TNT. Does anyone have any thoughts about using Facebook or Twitter as a communication tool for the group? The blog is good, but it doesn't notify by email when there is a new post. We also have the newsletter coming out March 1st, which will be a great tool for upcoming events.

As we talked about TNT and other networking groups in the area, it came up that TNT should be added to meetup.com, which is a list of local networking groups online. I'll check into that. Does anyone use that site to find networking groups?

Elizabeth also had a helpful tip about getting mail lists. The library has a license for mailing lists that normally cost thousands of dollars. She went to a class where a local librarian taught how easy it is to access these lists. We're going to see if this librarian could come and chat with TNT.

Another topic of discussion was having a day-long seminar or retreat for TNT. That way, we could have a number of speakers give their entire presenation without being rushed as they sometimes are at our dinner meetings.

February 10th Meeting

Hello: How did you like the presentation from Home Depot? I thought it was very informative and got several great tips that I will use as soon as I can get out in the yard. I also thought dinner was fantastic. Anyone else? Thanks, Carol
